Sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference. A clean, well-defined landscape bed along the front of a home ties everything together - it makes the siding look sharper, the entry feel more intentional, and the whole property just looks more cared for.
Here's what we were working with: a strip of bare ground running along the foundation, right next to the driveway. It had potential, but it needed structure. We brought in natural stone boulders and flat-faced edging stones to frame the bed, then filled it with a mix of river rock and fresh dark mulch. The contrast between the mulch, stone, and gravel pulls the eye in all the right ways.
The natural stone edging does more than just look good. It holds the mulch in place, keeps gravel from migrating onto the driveway, and creates a clean boundary that's easy to maintain long-term. No plastic borders, no cheap stuff - just solid material that fits the character of the home.
We also paid attention to the way everything sat against the foundation. Keeping proper spacing and layering around the base of a structure matters for drainage and long-term upkeep. It's one of those things you don't always think about until it becomes a problem.
This is the kind of work we genuinely enjoy. It doesn't have to be a massive overhaul to make a real impact. A little attention to detail in the right spots goes a long way toward making a home feel finished and well-kept.
