The retaining wall runs the length of the cut, stacked tight with natural stone and built to hold. No shortcuts in how those rocks are seated - each one placed to carry load and shed water the right way. That's the detail work that doesn't get seen once everything is finished, but it's exactly what determines how long it all lasts.
